Sonographer II PRN PRN Sonographer IIJob SummaryUnder general supervision, performs routine and specialized sonographic procedures.

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed.
  • Executes basic clinical competence in Sonography, in all locations, across all patient types.
Selects accurate equipment and technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient.\t\t\t\t\to Actively participates in the Clinical Ladder Program, if implemented, at the individual System\t\t\t\t\t\thospital/location, meeting and maintaining all Program standards and requirements.
  • Applies knowledge of Sonographic principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, physics, positioning and patient care skills. Appropriately performs high level disinfecting procedures to meet organizational infection prevention standards. Ads to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
  • Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
  • Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
  • Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. Work Experience Education
  • Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound Education Program Experience
  • ARRT(S) and / or RDMS (ARDMS): minimum of 1 year experience OR RVT Licensures/Certifications
  • ARRT(S) and / or RDMS (ARDMS) certification OR RVT certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification Education and Experience - Preferred
  • RDMS certification with additional RVT certification within a year
