To be successful as a sonographer, you should have excellent patient service and communication skills, as well as a MFM Sonographer you must have a keen eyesight and attention to detail and have technical skills, as well as sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Creates a preliminary report for physician review/signature. Reviews studies with physicians. Assists physician with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling. Codes appropriate for services performed. Maintains proper operation of the ultrasound equipment. Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action. Maintains laundry for examination rooms. Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies. Follows the accredited laboratory protocols for obtaining two-dimensional images, color flow, Doppler, and m-mode where applicable.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.
ARDMS OB/GYN
certified or eligible Fetal echo certification or eligible to obtain with 12 months of hire. Fetal echo experience preferred or will be provided. Participates in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities. Participates in professional development activities and meetings. Completion of a program containing OB/GYN ultrasonography. CPR certification required. Satisfactory completion of one of the following; at least two (2) years in Allied Health Educational Program and one (1) year on-the-job- training in ultrasonography, or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program. Maintain or be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS). Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.

PTO Compensation Range:
