1 Description American Traveler is hiring an Echo Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with a minimum of 5 years of echocardiography experience, including 2+ years in an acute inpatient setting at a Level I Trauma facility. Details Inpatient echocardiography lab at a tertiary care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center Rotating day shifts, including rotating weekends, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts) Overnight on-call required 2-3 nights per month from 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM, subject to cardiologist approval Average daily workload of 7-8 echocardiograms per day Procedures include transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), 3D echo, and strain imaging Float policy may require travel between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed Requirements Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience At least 2 years of acute inpatient echo experience in a Level I Trauma facility Proficiency in TTEs, stress echocardiograms, TEEs, 3D echo, and strain imaging In-depth knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology Experience optimizing image quality using scanning techniques, equipment settings, and ultrasound contrast agents Ability to manage high-volume workflows in a critical care environment while maintaining diagnostic quality Adherence to ASE and IAC standards Driver's License required for consideration SSN and DOB required for consideration 2 professional references required for consideration License required if applicable Additional Information Perform a comprehensive range of echo studies including TTEs, TEEs, stress echos, and advanced imaging techniques such as 3D echo and strain imaging Work collaboratively with sonographers, cardiologists, and fellows through case reviews, feedback sessions, and educational opportunities Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility in Maine or New Hampshire are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this at the time of consideration Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
