Per Diem Inpatient and outpatient locations staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift availability. 8-hour shifts and 12-hour shifts, weekends
Position Summary:
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs ultrasound studies for various age groups of patients. Provides technical support for the Radiologist and assists in the care, comfort and safety of patients. Prepares accumulated data from the exams for interpretation by the Radiologist. Provide accurate documentation of OB data, prepare reports and release appropriately. Assist with the development of new exams, implement changes to present exams to enhance quality of patient care and delivery of services. What the Ultrasound Tech will do: Prepares and performs a complete range of non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound test. Assist the Radiologist in invasive procedures. Transport patients to and from testing areas as requested. Exhibits initiative to move patients through in a timely fashion. Follow proper procedures in scheduling invasive procedures. Review patient's chart for assessment data and clarification of orders. Prepare data sheets with patient history and technical interpretation for Radiologist. Consult Radiologist of any abnormal findings. Notify ordering physician immediately per Radiologist request. Perform primary equipment maintenance to insure proper operation and continuity of patient service. Follow guidelines / policies regarding cleaning equipment and keeping rooms clean. Suggest ways to continually improve quality, productivity, costs and work processes. Demonstrates proficiency with timeliness of charge entry and selection of correct charges for services provided. Assures that the charges entered are consistent with services provided and supported by appropriate documentation. When assigned, assumes daily reconciliation duties and serves as Department Revenue Lead and Subject Matter Expert for department's revenue capture, reconciliation, and error correction processes and procedures. What the Ultrasound Tech will need: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered eligible.
