Qualifications:
Proficient in general ultrasound imaging Demonstrated ability to assist with invasive diagnostic procedures, such as needle biopsies, aspirations, needle-wire placements Strong knowledge of recognizing normal and abnormal sonographic patterns Experience analyzing sonography findings during examinations Aptitude for training residents and standardizing procedures Adept at communicating with radiologists and referring physicians Certified/licensed to perform ultrasound imaging in accordance with state regulations (ARDMS or equivalent preferred)
Responsibilities:
Assist radiologists with invasive diagnostic techniques and provide procedural guidance Perform ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision as indicated Evaluate contraindications, ensure appropriate patient preparation, and assess patient tolerance for procedures Recognize and relay significant abnormalities requiring radiologist observation Acquire high-quality images, Doppler signals, and maintain detailed documentation for each exam Offer preliminary feedback to radiologists and referring physicians regarding diagnostic outcomes Support the education and training of residents to ensure procedural standardization
