JOB SUMMARY
The Ultrasound Technologist performs quality diagnostic medical sonograms to ensure accurate and appropriate imaging information for use in diagnosis and treatment, under the supervision of a qualified radiologist.
Schedule:
Monday - Fridays; varied hours between 7:00am- 6:00pm No Weekend No Holiday No Call
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform various sonographic procedures for ultrasound diagnosis using pre-determined protocols. Prepare room, equipment, contrast media, and supplies necessary for each procedure. Provide explanation of procedures and assumes care of the physical and psychological needs of the patient while in radiology. Obtain clinical information and indication for all sonograms. Document appropriate patient history and clinical data as indicated into
EHR. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate degree in Radiology, or a related field, required. Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of ultrasonography, or comparable work experience in the practice specialty of abdomen and OB/Gyn required. General and Vascular sonographer certifications required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Ultrasound Technology required.
