This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors' practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and support echocardiography technicians in delivering high-quality imaging services. Coordinate daily scheduling of echocardiograms, ensuring optimal workflow and coverage. Monitor workload distribution and adjust staffing as necessary. Performs pediatric echocardiograms and transmits for review by pediatric cardiology. Integrates patient history, medical record documentation, & lab results to adapt sonographic exam as necessary. Evaluates, synthesizes, and communicates preliminary findings to the pediatric cardiologist, fellows and nurse practitioners as appropriate. Performs all measurements and calculations necessary for each exam per ICAEL recommendations. Conducts laboratory duties as delegated by department director, manager, or senior technician. Maintains records for daily operations and assists in maintenance of documentation related to ICAEL certification/re-certification. Educates patients, students, fellows and new technicians in all aspects of echocardiography. Participates in staff meetings, research studies, quality assurance activities and working groups. Cooperates and assists in obtaining institutional, divisional and departmental initiatives and goals. Conforms to all applicable HIPAA, billing compliance and safety guidelines.
Job Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent plus Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification from an accredited Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) required; certificate may be substituted by Associate's Degree in ultrasound/sonography technology from an accredited college. ARDMS Certification required. 5 years' minimum experience as an echocardiography technician required. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
Hourly Rate Ranges:
$47.96 - $64.46
