Job Description
SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking a reliable Ultrasound Technologist to work full time for SJS Executives supporting ongoing facilities operations at a local Veterans Affairs Hospital in Portland, OR & Vancouver, WA.We are a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 250 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; we specialize in professional services to support federal and military organizations.
Due to the nature of this position, must be willing to commit to a minimum six (6) month assignment.
Complete required computer documentation and forms related to patient exams, complications, and quality improvement activities.
Ensure quality assurance of ultrasound images, verifying proper positioning, labeling, technique, and network information prior to transmission to the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).Schedule ultrasound examinations to maximize scanner utilization while maintaining flexibility for urgent and emergency cases.
Prioritize scheduled patients appropriately while accommodating emergency imaging requests.
Consult with Radiologists to determine requirements for non-standard or specialized examinations.
Coordinate patient scheduling and communicate examination results or urgent findings to Radiologists or referring physicians as required.
Notify Radiologists immediately of imaging results that require urgent review or intervention.
Follow radiation safety practices to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self through the proper use of protective equipment and safety procedures.
Comply with medical center radiation safety policies including the use of film badges and participation in required safety and quality assurance activities.
Maintain accurate records of examinations performed, including patient logbooks and electronic documentation in the Hospital Information System (HIS) and Radiology Information System (RIS).Register and edit patient examination data within the computerized imaging system and manage worklists.
Copy and distribute diagnostic images to appropriate media (e.g., CD or film) when required.
Ensure accurate patient identification by verifying patient ID bands and examination requests prior to imaging.
Explain ultrasound procedures to patients, including potential risks or expectations during the examination.
Provide on-call and standby coverage to perform emergency ultrasound examinations during irregular hours, including 24-hour coverage when scheduled.
Work independently while reporting unusual situations, equipment issues, or workflow conflicts to the Imaging Chief Technologist.
Must be registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen/Small Parts and at least two separate certifications, such as RVT, OB/GYN, Muscular Skeletal, etc;Minimum three (3) years of experience operating diagnostic radiology equipment under the supervision of a Radiologist or medical officer.
Recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting within the past six (6) months.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Must have demonstrate expertise in ultrasounds of scrotum, pelvis and U/S guided biopsy, including liver and renal biopsies of native and transplanted organs, renal artery stenosis and renal Doppler.
Proof of current Professional Liability insurance.
Provide three (3) references.
Must satisfy all additional federal, VA, and facility-specific credentialing requirements.
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.

Schedule:
Personnel will work any eight (8) hour shift, nine (9) hour shift, or ten (10) hour shift. Eight (8) hour shifts are typically five (5) days per week with 30 minutes for lunch/dinner. Nine (9) hour shifts are typically a rotating four (4) day and five (5) days per week with 30 minutes for lunch/dinner. Ten (10) hour shifts are typically a four (4) day week. Rotating weekends and Holiday shifts may be required, and hours will vary. Overtime, On-Call, and Call Back duty for these positions may be required on occasion and in emergent situations. Overtime, On-Call, and Call Back rates will be in accordance with Contractor's Federal Supply Schedule Price List terms and conditions. Minimum assignments shall be for 2 days (16 hours per position), with possible opportunities for longer assignments depending on the need of the medical facil.Qualifications:
