Shift:
typically, daylight 8-10 hour shifts with 3-11 rotation every 6 weeks As a Sonographer, you will:
Perform Imaging Procedures :
Conduct ultrasound procedures independently, using your judgment and initiative. Assist with
Invasive Procedures :
Support physicians during invasive procedures, adhering to universal protocol standards.
Manage Exam Documentation :
Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, networked for archiving and interpretation, and charges are accurately entered.
High-Level Disinfection :
Handle disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment as needed.
Communicate Effectively :
Clearly explain procedures to patients, easing their fears and gaining their cooperation.
Patient Identification :
Use two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol for accurate patient identification.
Review and Document Patient History :
Assess physician orders, apply departmental protocols, and document patient history in electronic records. Interact with
Care Team :
Collaborate with patients and co-workers, demonstrating care, respect, and teamwork.
Optimize Imaging Techniques :
Utilize ultrasound instrumentation effectively to obtain high-quality images and data. You will be placed in the appropriate job tile and compensation based on your experience and background Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required RDMS, RVT or ARRT (S) registered or registry eligible preferred And Must obtain RDMS, RVT or ARRT (S) within 12 months of hire date ARRT Certificate OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) OR Registered Vascular Technologist Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
