A sonographer is also known as a diagnostic medical sonographer or an ultrasound technician.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:

Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
