Job Description

Ultrasound Sonographer Extern Job Summary The Ultrasound Sonographer Extern supports the Ultrasound Department by assisting sonographers with daily workflow activities while gaining valuable hands-on clinical experience. This position promotes exceptional patient care and customer service by maintaining a professional image and fostering positive relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with McLeod Health's Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Essential Responsibilities Prepare, clean, and stock ultrasound exam rooms between patient appointments. Assist sonographers with departmental workflow and report preparation. Support patient care activities under the direction of licensed sonographers and department leadership. Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, patients, family members, visitors, and ancillary departments. Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to outstanding customer service. Promote and support the mission, vision, values, and service standards of McLeod Health. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Work Schedule:
PRN (As Needed) Required Training Currently enrolled in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound) program. Education High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire. Why Join McLeod Health?
