1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a 13-week evening shift contract at a Level II Trauma facility in Orangeburg, SC, requiring at least 1 year of experience and general sonography skills across multiple modalities. Details Level II Trauma hospital with 286 staffed beds Ultrasound department handling inpatient, outpatient, and ER cases Cases include general abdominal, OB, small parts, kidney, and vascular studies Approximately 15 cases per technologist per day 4x10-hour evening shifts, Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM- 12:30 AM On-call rotation with full-time technologists; call coverage on Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM
- 7:30 PM when a technologist calls out No floating between service lines or sister facilities Epic EMR preferred Radiation badge required and must be provided by the traveler's agency Requirements Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience Active BLS certification (AHA only) ARRT (S) or ARDMS certification required Proficiency with PACS, portable exams, and ultrasound procedures Ability to scan general abdominal, OB, small parts, kidney, and vascular studies SC license required if applicable — candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must be fully licensed before starting SSN and driver's license required for consideration 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are accepted for this position, depending on qualifications Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs Candidates with 7 or fewer days of non-holiday RTO may be eligible for expedited consideration; requests exceeding 7 days or including holidays are subject to facility approval Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment Scrub colors are teal top and black bottom Parking is provided at no cost Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June•November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
