Job Description

Perm - Sonographer (General/Vascular) -
Days Region:
South Carolina (Columbia area) Permanent, Full-Time, Day Shift (8 hours)
SUMMARY A
mobile ultrasound role providing general and vascular imaging across a variety of patient settings. This position is full time, day shift, with rotating weekends and holidays. Work is performed independently, traveling between facilities to deliver high quality diagnostic ultrasound services.
REQUIREMENTS
Registered in Vascular and General ultrasound (
ARDMS:
RVT & AB, CCI
RVS, or ARRT VS). Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program. Must maintain all required certifications, health clearances, and annual screenings. Valid driver's license required; subject to periodic checks.
COVID 19
vaccination required unless approved exemption. Ability to work independently, manage a mobile schedule, and communicate professionally. Basic smartphone and computer skills (printing, scanning, emailing). Strong organizational skills and ability to navigate regional travel routes.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Provide mobile ultrasound services in nursing homes, home care settings, prisons, and other facilities. Travel to assigned locations, unload and set up portable ultrasound equipment, and perform ordered exams. Obtain clinically diagnostic images and transmit studies electronically for radiologist interpretation. Verify all exam orders against patient charts before performing any study. Confirm patient identity using two identifiers; document nurse verification when needed. Communicate regularly with dispatch and respond promptly to urgent messages. Wear company uniform, carry company phone, and follow all professional conduct standards. Maintain equipment and vehicle; report any malfunction immediately. Complete daily paperwork, billing scans, and required documentation. Participate in meetings and training; may assist in training other technologists. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and compliance policies.
WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting equipment bags (18-20 lbs) and transporting carts requiring 5-10 lbs of force. Frequent travel between facilities; majority of work performed on the move. Must be comfortable working in varied environments, including possible prison exams.
