Description Edmunds Gastroenterology a fast-paced gastroenterology office located in West Knoxville is currently looking for a part-time Ultrasound Technician.
Job Summary:
An Abdominal Ultrasound Technician performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations of abdominal organs and structures to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions. The sonographer operates ultrasound equipment, evaluates image quality, and ensures patient comfort throughout the examination process.

Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Responsibilities Perform ultrasound examinations of abdominal organs, including the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and abdominal blood vessels. Review physician orders and patient medical histories before examinations. Position patients appropriately and explain procedures. Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment to obtain clear diagnostic images. Recognize normal and abnormal anatomical findings. Document examination results and maintain accurate patient records. Follow infection control, safety, and patient privacy regulations. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers. Maintain ultrasound equipment and report technical issues. Requirements Required Qualifications Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Completion of clinical training in abdominal sonography. Certification such as the Abdomen (AB) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required. Knowledge of abdominal anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Strong communication and patient-care skills. Skills Proficiency in abdominal ultrasound imaging techniques. Attention to detail and image quality assessment. Ability to identify anatomical structures and abnormalities. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Professionalism and compassion when working with patients.
