Job Description

Where You'll Work St. Luke's Health-Brazosport Hospital is located on a beautiful, 25-acre campus in Lake Jackson, Texas. Offering state-of-the-art diagnostic and comprehensive treatment services, our hospital is home to a 154-bed patient tower, level III trauma center, advanced cardiac care center, and full-service, multidisciplinary cancer center. Our team consists of over 100 board-certified physicians and nearly 600 highly skilled employees to meet our patients' medical needs. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.

Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.

To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support. Performs ultrasound exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director Prepares equipment ensuring that it is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards Problem‐solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative or CES regarding equipment problems Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed before/during/ after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained Completes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedure Job Requirements Required High School Graduate or GED Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Breast, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Neurosonology, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Pediatric Sono, or Registered Cardiac Electr, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, or Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, or Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, or Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, or Registered Vascular Specialist, or Registered Vascular Technologist, and Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days Preferred Associate's degree
