Job Summary and Qualifications Under the direction of the Non-Invasive Cardiology/Neurodiagnostic Services Director, the Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist/Accreditation Specialist plans, directs, and supervises all aspects of on-going cardiac echo and vascular imaging training for current staff members, future staff members, and students. This individual will also coordinate all aspects of lab accreditation for both cardiac ultrasound and vascular imaging. Candidate will also staff as needed to perform routine patient exams at a high technical level to include Echocardiograms, Carotids, TEEs, and Tilt Tables for adult patients.
Essential Job Functions :
Demonstrates technical proficiency for adult echocardiograms, TEEs, HUTTs and Carotid imaging. Develops and maintains all ongoing documentation to support and implement departmental accreditation for both the Cardiac Ultrasound and Vascular Labs. Candidate will staff for routine patient care at the direction of the Director. Trains all staff and students to perform at high level of competency. Must demonstrate an aptitude to teach, guide, and direct trainees and staff. Maintaining all patient reports. This includes but is not limited to the following: pulling all previous reports/images, presenting images to the correct reading physician, notifying reading physicians of requests, and entering proper patient charges into Meditech. Keeps abreast of all the technological advances in the fields of echocardiography and vascular imaging.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree related in a healthcare field from a university. However, may substitute 10 years clinical experience in lieu of bachelor's degree. Minimum of 5 years experience in a hospital setting directly working in the field of cardiac ultrasound/vascular imaging. One year's experience must have included a responsible role for the teaching/training of students and/or new orientees. Candidate must have completed coursework from an accredited echo-training program. Courses in Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology are required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office required.
Minimum License and Certificates Required :
Candidate must possess a registry in adult echocardiography (RCDS). Preference will be given to candidates with two or more registries to also include pediatric echocardiography or vascular imaging.
