General Summary The Ultrasound Technician performs ultrasound diagnostic tests and fibroscans for patients. We are looking for a qualified full time or part time (Mon-Fri; 8 AM-2 PM) candidate to join our team. Essential Job Functions Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians. Assist physicians with liver biopsies. Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum imaging results. Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment. Maintain ultrasound and fibroscan equipment in appropriate operating condition. Maintain examination rooms and work areas. Additional Responsibilities 1. Maintain accurate department records, reports and files as directed. 2. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 3. Work as a team member within the ultrasound area and all other departments. 4. Document work processes as required. 5. Perform other duties as assigned.

General Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program required.

Certification/Licensure:

RDMS certification in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular, echo. ARRT (S) CPR certification for Health Care Providers.

Experience:

Minimum one (1) years experience as a sonographer required. Experience in vascular preferred.

Skills:

Ability to operate ultrasound equipment. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people. Excellent telephone skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable but not required. Performance Measurement 1. 98% Accuracy rate in data 2. Capture of satisfactory images as evaluated by interpreting radiologist 3. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area of imaging. 2. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. 3. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy, stressful or emergency situations. 4. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing. 5. Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.

Requires exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment
