How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:
The Lead Sonographer coordinates, plans, and organizes the clinical activities of the area under the direction leadership. Assesses clinical staffing needs, prepares and maintains work schedule and adjusts as needed. Communicates schedule to staff. Coordinates patients flow throughout the day and provides direction for staff as needed. Reassigns staff if indicated. Facilitates effective communication and resolves operation issues that support department service goals, objectives, benchmarks and targets Contributes to Carilion Clinics performance improvement activities. Assists manager with identifying, reviewing, and recommending suggestions for performance improvement. Serves as liaison between manager and clinical staff. Assists with providing education activities for staff. Coordinates orientation for new clinical staff. Participates in peer review and provides input to management for performance review process. Monitors performance improvement activities and/or collects data as directed by management. Participates in development of action plans. Observes all safety precautions and standards; train all staff and assure that all clinical staff comply with safety measures; maintain OSHA and MSDS manuals; and assure that all clinical staff complete annual health requirements. Participates in direct patient care delivery as appropriate for the individual certification or licensure. Interprets exam results to quantify the extent of patients disease by utilizing established diagnostic parameters. compiles preliminary reports to communicate test results to referring physicians.
What We Require:
Education:
Associates degree in a clinical discipline required.
Experience:
3 years of clinical experience. Licensure, certification, and/or registration:
Vascular Ultrasound:
Registered Sonographer with RDCS or RCS credentials
Echo:
Registered Sonographer with RVT credentials
Diagnostic Ultrasound:
ARRT registry/ARDMS in one of the following areas:
Vascular, OB/Gyn, Abd or Neurosonography Life Support:
AHA BLS-HCP
required.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
Effective interpersonal, communication, and team work skills required. Computer skills helpful. Strong problem solving skills.
