A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Education & Licensing:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) and a valid California Veterinary License (or eligibility to obtain one).Clinical Skills:
Competency in performing thorough physical examinations, executing diagnostics, and developing effective inpatient and outpatient treatment plans.Client Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly explain exam findings, diagnostics, and treatment plans to clients, as well as compassionately guide them through end-of-life decisions.Medical Operations:
Commitment to prescribing, monitoring, and dispensing medications safely, while maintaining thorough, efficient medical records.Surgical Skills:
Proficiency in general surgeries (e.g., spays, neuters, laceration repairs, abscess treatments) is a plus.Professional Growth:
