Your Role as an Internal Medicine Specialist This veterinarian is a vital member of the Internal Medicine service, providing compassionate, high-quality care for patients with complex, chronic, and multi systemic conditions. They work closely with referring veterinarians, specialty technicians, and support staff to coordinate advanced diagnostics, develop comprehensive treatment plans, perform specialized procedures, and manage both outpatient and hospitalized internal medicine cases. The veterinarian possesses extensive expertise in internal medicine, including endocrine, gastrointestinal, renal, respiratory, infectious, hematologic, and immune-mediated disorders, and demonstrates exceptional clinical judgement and diagnostic skills. They are detail oriented, intellectually curious, and capable of managing intricate cases with precision and confidence. Above all, they bring a passion for internal medicine, a commitment to clinical excellence and lifelong learning, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care. You'll use your expertise to: Deliver advanced internal medicine care using specialized diagnostics, imaging, and interventional procedures. Build and manage a strong internal medicine caseload while maintaining accurate and timely medical records. Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, referring veterinarians, and clients to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Lead, mentor, and support technicians and support staff through coaching and teamwork. Contribute to hospital rounds, continuing education, community outreach, and professional development initiatives. Create client-focused treatment recommendations that balance medical needs, patient welfare, and financial considerations. Support operational excellence through effective use of hospital systems, inventory controls, and adherence to AAHA standards of care.

Proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound Schedule Specialty doctors are expected to work 4 x 10 hour shifts weekly with one week on call monthly. Hours and days can vary based on caseload and overall needs of the hospital. Some holidays, weekends, and on-calls may be necessary to fill the needs of the hospital and service. Further schedule details will be discussed and outlined in the contract for employment agreement. Work Environment & Physical Demands This role is physically active and fast-paced. You'll need to: Lift up to 50 lbs frequently Kneel, stoop, crouch, and be on your feet for long periods Operate medical and office equipment Work around biological hazards and cleaning agents Communicate clearly in noisy environments
