What they do
A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Job Description
Responsibilities may include:
Performing wellness and sick-patient examinations Diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries Developing individualized diagnostic and treatment plans Providing preventive and wellness care Performing routine surgical procedures based on experience and comfort level Providing and overseeing dental care and procedures Reviewing and interpreting laboratory results, radiographs, and other diagnostics Communicating treatment recommendations clearly and compassionately with clients Educating pet owners about preventive care and disease management Maintaining accurate and timely medical records Collaborating with veterinary technicians, assistants, receptionists, and fellow doctors Helping maintain a respectful, supportive, and patient-focused clinic environment We want our doctors to feel supported while also having the professional independence to use their clinical judgment and practice thoughtful medicine. Compensation & Benefits Salary is negotiable based on experience, schedule, clinical skills, and the needs of the candidate and practice.Our benefits package includes:
4 weeks of paid time off after 90 days of employment 5 sick days after 90 days of employment 8 paid holidays DEA license fees covered- approximately $888 every 3 years Florida veterinary license renewal covered
- approximately $265 every 2 years $2,000 annual continuing education allowance PLIT veterinary professional liability insurance covered
- approximately $383 annually AVMA membership dues covered
