Job Description

Introduction Our client is a practice seeking a Veterinarian to join their locally owned animal hospital model. This small animal primary care hospital provides comprehensive companion animal services and offers a pathway toward ownership, enabling veterinarians to lead their own team while maintaining full medical autonomy. The practice is built on veterinarian-crafted standards of care and is designed to empower DVMs to deliver exceptional medicine within a supportive, growth-focused environment. Working Hours / Rota The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 8:00pm and Sunday from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Scheduling is designed to be flexible and supportive of work-life balance. Role Description and Responsibilities The Veterinarian will provide comprehensive primary care services to companion animals, including wellness exams, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, surgery, oral health care, dermatology, oncology diagnostics, behavioral consultations, nutritional counseling, prescription management, microchipping, travel documentation, kitten and puppy care, senior pet care, and euthanasia services. The role also includes urgent care services during hospital hours, addressing conditions such as coughing, cuts and lacerations, ear and eye infections, growths, limping, gastrointestinal concerns, persistent scratching, poisoning, rashes, scooting, and urinary issues. The position offers full medical autonomy, structured mentorship and education from experienced veterinary leadership, customizable professional development plans, and a pathway toward future ownership within a feedback-driven culture focused on continuous improvement. Practice Details This locally owned small animal hospital operates within a growing network of veterinarian-led practices. The model emphasizes full autonomy in medical decision-making, comprehensive mentorship support, and leadership development. Services include primary care, diagnostics, surgery, urgent care during open hours, dermatology, oncology diagnostics, oral health, nutritional counseling, behavioral consultations, preventive medicine, and end-of-life care. Team The hospital team includes five DVMs supported by a collaborative staff.
