Relief Veterinarian (DVM) - Old Line Veterinary Urgent Care Looking for flexible relief work in a supportive, well-equipped hospital? We'd love to meet you! Old Line Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate and confident Relief Veterinarian to join our growing team. We are an urgent care practice that bridges the gap between primary care and emergency medicine, providing high-quality, same-day care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance for our team. Our newly built facility is designed with efficiency in mind, and our experienced support staff allows you to focus on practicing great medicine—not juggling unnecessary tasks. Why You'll Love Working Here 5:1 staff-to-doctor ratio so you have the support you need. Last appointments are taken one hour before closing , allowing ample time to complete diagnostics, treatments, and medical records so you can leave on time. No open cavity surgeries required. We focus on urgent care medicine, medical cases, wound management, laceration repair, and other non-invasive procedures. Critical or specialty cases that require advanced intervention can be stabilized and referred to local emergency or specialty hospitals when appropriate. 2 year old, modern facility with a collaborative and positive team culture. Our Equipment Includes Digital radiography (X-ray) Ultrasound Comprehensive in-house laboratory Modern treatment and monitoring equipment Responsibilities Perform physical examinations and develop diagnostic and treatment plans. Diagnose and manage urgent medical conditions in dogs and cats. Interpret laboratory results and diagnostic imaging. Perform non-invasive procedures including wound management, laceration repair, abscess treatment, and sedation when indicated. Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care. Maintain thorough and accurate medical records. Collaborate with an experienced team of technicians and assistants to deliver exceptional patient care. Stabilize patients requiring advanced or specialty care prior to referral when appropriate. Qualifications DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school. Active veterinary license in Maryland. Strong communication and client education skills. Comfortable managing multiple urgent care cases independently while working collaboratively with support staff. Passion for practicing high-quality, compassionate medicine.
