Part-Time Shelter Veterinarian The Bitter Root Humane Association (BRHA) in beautiful Hamilton, Montana, is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and community-minded Part-Time Veterinarian to join our team. If you are passionate about shelter medicine, high-quality care, and supporting the human-animal bond, we want to hear from you. As we expand our community medical care capacity and enhance our mission-driven programs —including our burgeoning Community Cat Program initiatives and animal rescue operations —this role offers the chance to make a tangible impact in the Bitterroot Valley. The Role This position focuses on providing essential medical care to our shelter population and supporting our community outreach efforts. You will work closely with a dedicated staff committed to progressive shelter management and animal enrichment.

Key Responsibilities:

High-Volume Spay/Neuter:

Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries for shelter animals and community TNR programs.

Medical Assessments:

Conduct intake exams, diagnose and treat illness/injury, and manage "herd health" protocols to maintain a healthy shelter environment.

Community Clinics:

Support our low-cost community wellness and vaccination clinics.

Forensic & Specialized Care:

Provide medical evaluations for animals entering through specialized rescue operations or cruelty investigations.

Collaboration:

Work with the shelter leadership to refine medical protocols and support enrichment programs like Dogs Playing for Life .

What We're Looking For Education:

DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary school.

Licensure:

Current Montana Veterinary License (or ability to obtain one) and DEA registration.

Experience:

Experience in shelter medicine or high-volume surgery is preferred, but we welcome passionate practitioners dedicated to animal welfare.

Skills:
