Job Description
Veterinarian/SR Veterinarian, Key Account, Poultry (Field) Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA
Build and strengthen relationships with key decision‑makers and other personnel within each account. Supports SAM/KAM efforts by identifying and delivering training and educational initiatives for strategic/key account employees. Acts as a technical expert during disease outbreaks and health-related issues by partnering with account management, veterinarians, and nutritionists to design diagnostic, treatment, and prevention programs. Collaborates with customers, consulting veterinarians/nutritionists, SAMs/KAMs, and technical marketing managers to identify potential research opportunities that benefit both the customer and BIAH. Works with technical marketing managers to develop research protocols for account and BIAH review and approval. Provides leadership and subject‑matter expertise to the species segment in areas such as custom-made vaccines, training and development, animal welfare and responsible antimicrobial use, epidemiology/statistics, or other designated specialties. Supports students and maintain positive relationships with veterinary faculty to ensure schools remain current on BIAH products, data, and scientific developments. Assists the Director, Key Account Veterinarians, with planning and executing Tech Team meetings, Key Account Veterinarian meetings, conference calls, and STAT meetings. Supports onboarding and training of new hires (SAMs/KAMs/KAVs), contribute to training material development, and serve as a mentor for newly hired key account veterinarians. Partners with BIAH Corporate Communications and marketing when technical messaging, interviews, or articles are required to address industry or company issues. Conducts all company business in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., USDA) and company policies and procedures, and promptly report any observed violations. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards in all business interactions to maintain BIAH's strong reputation internally and within the animal health community. Manages administrative responsibilities, including processing travel, MAP (marketing and promotions) requests, university support, product samples, and professional development expenses. Provides technical support to assigned accounts, including some of BIAH's largest strategic/key customers (typically totaling >$5M in combined sales). Educates customers on BIAH products, data, and research; offer consultation on health programs, animal husbandry, management practices, and diagnostic investigations. Serves as a technical resource to the Species Leadership Team (SLT), marketing, business development, and R D by contributing to segment strategy, new business or product opportunities, marketing programs, and other BIAH or industry initiatives. Develops a comprehensive understanding of each assigned account's business model, goals, and operational needs. Poultry:
A veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution is required. A degree from a AVMA accredited school is preferred. Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state in the United States required. Board certification in the American College of Poultry Veterinarians (ACPV) board or ability to become certified is preferred. Minimum five (5) years of relevant poultry industry experience (production medicine, technical service, etc.) in broiler production is preferred. Animal health biologics industry experience is a plus. Field-based position, living in poultry-concentrated area, with preference to Southeastern United States. Willingness to travel up to 50-65% of time (will include overnight travel). Requires a thorough understanding of veterinary medicine, diseases, production and management, diagnostics and use of vaccines/pharmaceuticals in disease prevention/control programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint and database applications. Proven successful public speaking and presentation skills are required. Must work effectively with intermittent supervision. Solid interpersonal skills and group communication skills are required. Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record. Authorization and ability to drive a Company leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle.Senior Veterinarian, Species Key Account:
Veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience (clinical practice, species production medicine, technical service, etc.).Preferred:
Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) or board certification in production/species medicine, pathology, microbiology, or related fields. Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in at least one U.S. state. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and database applications. Demonstrated success in public speaking and delivering presentations. Ability to work effectively with intermittent supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and group communication capabilities. Proven project management skills. Ability to travel, including overnight travel. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Authorization and ability to operate a company‑leased or authorized rental vehicle.
