What they do
A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

About Us:
Founded as an after-hours emergency clinic in 1977, AERA is now a 45,000 square foot, 24/7 state-of-the-art hospital with a strong Emergency Service team and specialists in Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, and Surgery. Our tenured support staff includes a team of dedicated ICU nurses, laboratory staff, and pharmacy technicians, some of which have been with AERA for decades.The Role:
Our Emergency Doctors manage inpatient cases, triage incoming patients, and handle lacerations, basic wounds, urinary obstructions and enucleations. Our doctors also have the option to cut and can train in surgery as well as endoscopic foreign body removal, if they're interested!The Schedule:
Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating shifts (Four shifts per week for new graduates in the mentorship program) Shifts are: 8AM- 8PM, 12PM
- 12AM and 8PM
- 8AM Includes an average of two weekends per month and four holidays per year
