May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions in a fast-paced clinical environment Deliver compassionate care while maintaining productivity targets necessary for a high-volume model Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to optimize workflow and patient outcomes Educate pet owners on preventive care within the context of accessible, budget-conscious medicine Support rescue operations, including intake exams and medical treatment for rescued animals
