Job Description

Job Summary We are offering either: A salaried veterinarian position within our rescue Or the opportunity to design and operate a turnkey veterinary facility onsite with a built-in population of rescue huskies There is no client chasing. No production quotas. No upselling services. Just medicine that directly saves lives. The role would include routine shelter medicine, spay and neuter, preventative care, emergency stabilization, and ongoing treatment management for dogs recovering from neglect, trauma, and abandonment. Onsite living arrangements are available. Structure and contract terms are flexible for the right person. This is not a standard associate position. It is an opportunity to build something bold inside a rescue that already moves at scale. In this vital role, you will provide critical veterinary care, perform animal assessments, and assist in rescue operations to ensure animals receive compassionate treatment and proper medical attention. Your energetic approach and commitment to animal welfare will help us create a safer, healthier environment for rescued animals and support our mission to save lives. Responsibilities Conduct thorough veterinary examinations and assessments of rescued animals to determine their medical needs. Administer emergency treatments, including stabilization, wound care, and medication administration. Perform animal restraint and handling with care, ensuring safety for both animals and team members. Utilize veterinary terminology accurately to document findings, treatments, and procedures clearly. Assist in animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, bathing, and maintaining cleanliness of animal enclosures. Execute aseptic techniques during surgical procedures or invasive diagnostics like animal catheterization. Support laboratory testing processes, including sample collection and analysis to diagnose illnesses or injuries. Apply knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to develop effective treatment plans for diverse species, including dogs and horses. Maintain detailed records of medical treatments, procedures performed, and recovery progress for each animal. Collaborate with rescue teams during field operations to ensure animals are safely transported and cared for upon arrival. Experience Proven veterinary critical care experience with a strong background in emergency medicine. Hands-on experience with animal restraint, handling, and husbandry across various species. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Laboratory experience related to diagnostic testing or sample processing is preferred. Experience working with equine animals is a plus but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential. Prior pet grooming or pet care experience enhances your ability to provide comprehensive animal support. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining compassionate care standards.
