Responsibilities Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health issues in a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and equines. Perform surgical procedures with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and veterinary best practices. Administer treatments such as vaccinations, medication, and animal restraint to ensure safe and effective care. Handle animal restraint and management during examinations or procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Utilize veterinary terminology accurately while communicating diagnoses, treatment plans, and instructions to pet owners. Assist with laboratory testing, sample collection, and analysis to support accurate diagnoses. Apply knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to develop effective treatment strategies for diverse cases. Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with veterinary standards and protocols. Support pet grooming, animal husbandry, and general animal care activities to promote overall health. Perform specialized procedures such as animal catheterization and laboratory techniques as needed. Qualifications Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure or certification to practice veterinary medicine. Proven veterinary experience with a focus on critical care is highly desirable. Strong animal handling skills across various species, including dogs, cats, and horses. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Experience in animal restraint techniques, aseptic procedures, and laboratory work enhances your effectiveness in this role. Ability to perform pet grooming, pet care routines, and animal husbandry tasks confidently. Prior experience with equine care or extensive veterinary practice is a plus. Excellent communication skills for explaining complex medical information clearly to pet owners. Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare through compassionate care and professional integrity. $118,212.70 - $142,363.69 per year
