What they do
A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Qualifications Required Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine, or equivalent certification for international graduates Successful completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) Active Oregon veterinary license in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date Preferred Experience utilizing digital radiography, dental radiography, and in-house diagnostics Experience in small animal general practice, urgent care, or companion animal medicine Strong communication and client relationship skills Collaborative, team-oriented approach to medicine Interest in mentorship, teamwork, and long-term client relationships Early-Career Veterinarians Welcome We are excited to provide a supportive mentorship experience for veterinarians early in their careers and offer guidance from experienced doctors and support staff. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
