This position will begin as a part-time independent contractor role averaging approximately 12 hours per week, generally divided into two focused 6-hour shifts. The veterinarian will provide coverage on days when our current rehabilitation-certified veterinarian is not scheduled. Because the veterinarian may be the doctor on duty during their scheduled shifts, candidates must be comfortable independently examining patients, exercising appropriate medical judgment, creating rehabilitation treatment plans, identifying contraindications and recognizing when additional diagnostics, consultation or referral are necessary. Rehabilitation certification is preferred but is not required at the time of hire.
We welcome veterinarians who are:
Already certified in veterinary rehabilitation; or Currently enrolled in a recognized program such as CCRT, CCRP, CCAT, or comparable training Animal Therapy Center will provide orientation to established clinical protocols, access to an experienced rehabilitation team and opportunities for scheduled case consultation with our rehabilitation-certified veterinarian. This is not a continuously supervised training position, so the successful candidate must already be able to function safely and independently as a licensed veterinarian. This is not a traditional general-practice position. The focus is rehabilitation evaluations, mobility medicine, arthritis, senior pet care, post-operative recovery, pain management, progress examinations, acupuncture, or related doctor-level services when appropriately trained and creating treatment plans that our therapy team can safely carry out. About Animal Therapy Center Animal Therapy Center is an established rehabilitation-focused veterinary practice serving pets and families throughout the Lehigh Valley. Our facility, team and services include: Underwater treadmill therapy Therapeutic laser Land-based therapeutic exercise Senior mobility care Post-operative rehabilitation Pain-management support Fitness and conditioning programs Trained rehabilitation therapy staff Established rehabilitation protocols and treatment workflows The veterinarian will collaborate with our rehabilitation-certified veterinarian, therapists and management team while becoming familiar with ATC's clinical approach and standards of care. A veterinarian who has not yet formally enrolled may still be considered if they demonstrate meaningful related experience, a genuine commitment to rehabilitation medicine, and a realistic plan for beginning recognized training. Preferred Qualifications CCRT, CCRP, CCAT, or comparable certification completed or in progress Veterinary acupuncture certification or training Experience with therapeutic laser Experience managing orthopedic, neurologic, geriatric, arthritis, mobility, or post-operative cases Familiarity with hydrotherapy and therapeutic exercise Interest in developing a long-term rehabilitation-focused career Comfortable practicing in a focused, collaborative, and relationship-based environment Schedule Approximately 12 hours per week Generally two 6-hour shifts Potential availability may include Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and/or Sunday The final schedule will be based on candidate availability, patient demand, and practice needs The veterinarian will initially work on days when our current rehabilitation-certified veterinarian is not scheduled Additional shifts and clinical responsibility may become available over time based on demand, performance, and fit Compensation Independent contractor position $400 minimum per weekday or Saturday 6-hour shift $500 minimum per Sunday 6-hour shift Production-based earning opportunity when the percentage of the veterinarian's direct collected production exceeds the daily minimum Final compensation terms will depend on credentials, experience, availability, services performed and the final independent contractor agreement. Long-Term Opportunity This position is expected to begin with approximately two to three 6-hour shifts per week. As patient demand grows and the role develops, additional hours and greater clinical responsibility may become available. Our current rehabilitation-certified veterinarian maintains an established but limited schedule. For the right veterinarian, this position may gradually develop into a larger role within Animal Therapy Center, including increased responsibility for rehabilitation evaluations, treatment planning, continuity of care and clinical leadership. Animal Therapy Center is interested in finding a veterinarian who may want to build a meaningful long-term future within the practice. Future leadership, succession, or potential practice-purchase discussions may be possible for an exceptional long-term fit. Expanded hours, leadership responsibilities or ownership opportunities are not guaranteed as part of the initial position. Why Consider Animal Therapy Center? This opportunity may be a strong fit for a veterinarian who: Wants to build or continue a rehabilitation-focused career Is pursuing or considering formal rehabilitation certification Enjoys senior pets, mobility cases, pain management, and quality-of-life medicine Wants to practice outside the pace and pressure of traditional general practice Values thoughtful appointments and individualized treatment planning Wants access to an established rehabilitation facility and trained therapy team Is comfortable working independently while having access to scheduled case consultation Is interested in a position that may grow into a larger long-term clinical or leadership role Wants the possibility of building a future within a specialized veterinary practice How to Apply Please submit: A current resume or CV Confirmation of Pennsylvania licensure or eligibility A brief explanation of your interest in veterinary rehabilitation Details regarding relevant certifications, coursework, continuing education, or current enrollment Your anticipated rehabilitation certification goals Your availability for Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and/or Sunday shifts A brief description of your experience independently evaluating and managing orthopedic, neurologic, geriatric, mobility, or post-operative cases Qualified candidates may be asked to provide documentation of licensure, certification, current enrollment, completed coursework or relevant continuing education during the interview process.
