Attention licensed veterinarians! The Department of Agriculture is seeking qualified candidates for a State Veterinarian Temporary position at Pocono Downs Racetrack. In this role, you will apply your veterinary expertise in regulatory medicine while overseeing essential test barn operations, including pre-race and post-race duties. This role oversees all operations, activities, and staff within the detention barn, where urine and blood samples are collected for pre- and post-race examinations of horses. Ensuring the integrity of the chain of custody for both the horses and their samples. A key aspect of this role is to ensure the integrity of the chain of custody for the horses and their samples. Additionally, you will be responsible for administering medications to the horses. It is crucial to consistently enforce the rules, policies, and procedures established by the Pennsylvania Racing Commission to uphold the integrity of racing and safeguard the welfare of the horses. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Part-time, per diem employment Work hours are 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday, 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Sunday Work schedule is vendor controlled and is determined by the racing schedule.Telework:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Graduation from a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medical Doctor program.Special Requirement:
