A Veterinarian provides medical care to animals. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries. Specializes in treating either pets and small domesticated animals, or large animals and livestock, or wild animals. May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Job Description

Join our team as a full-time small animal veterinary associate! We are busy and rapidly growing practice in Rapid City, South Dakota. We take a common sense, practical approach to veterinary medicine and feel our job is to serve the needs of both the patient and the client. Our practice is mostly dogs and cats, with a few occasional exotics. We offer routine preventive surgery and medicine care, as well as advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, with a full in-house lab and diagnostic capabilities. We are in a new 2-year-old facility that enjoys a hilltop view of the Black Hills. Schedule will include at least 1 - 3 day weekend per month. There are great opportunities for a full work life balance with diverse recreation activities in the Black Hills on days off, enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, water sports, snow skiing, miles of public land to explore, and 6 National Park sites within 2 hours. Rapid City and the Black Hills area are growing economically, and we are the shopping, entertainment, and medical center for many small rural communities in a 5-state area. There are 6 national park sites in the Black Hills region, and the area is very family friendly and tourism oriented. Cost of living is reasonable, and there is no state income tax. Future buy-in is an option. We will accept experience or new graduates and have a structured mentorship program. Work life balance is as important to us as it is to you!!
