Veterinarian Technician

Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and treatments Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and document treatments accurately Support pet care activities such as grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery progress Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning kennels, and monitoring overall animal health status Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting cleaning or extraction processes as needed Handle diverse animals including dogs, cats, and equines with confidence in animal physiology and anatomy knowledge Support pet owners by providing education on pet care and post-treatment instructions Skills Proven kennel experience combined with animal handling skills to manage multiple animals safely and effectively Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy for accurate communication and procedure execution Experience with veterinary critical care practices to assist in emergency situations promptly and efficiently Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis to aid diagnostics Equine experience is a plus for handling larger animals confidently in a variety of settings Familiarity with veterinary technician responsibilities such as animal catheterization and aseptic techniques Ability to perform pet grooming, dog training basics, pet grooming techniques, and pet care routines with enthusiasm Proficiency in taking X-ray images while maintaining safety standards for staff and animals involved Excellent dog handling skills along with animal restraint expertise to ensure smooth procedures in a lively environment Knowledge of veterinary critical care protocols to support urgent patient needs effectively Embark on a rewarding career supporting animal health!
