Job Description

Associate Veterinarian (DVM) - Advanced Medicine, Mentorship & Clinical Growth North Davies Veterinary Hospital | Lake Stevens, Washington Competitive Base Salary + Production | Four-Day Work Week | Surgical Mentorship |Urgent Care | Leadership & Growth Opportunities North Davies Veterinary Hospital is looking for a veterinarian who wants to grow clinically, enjoys a diverse and engaging caseload, and wants to play an active role in building the future of a growing veterinary hospital. North Davies is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. We are expanding our medical team, developing advanced surgical capabilities, strengthening our general practice and urgent care services, and building a hospital culture centered around collaboration, mentorship, accountability, and continued learning. This is an opportunity for a veterinarian who wants more than a traditional GP role—someone who wants exposure to challenging cases, access to advanced mentorship, and the ability to help shape how medicine is practiced as the hospital grows. Clinical Growth & Surgical Mentorship One of the most unique aspects of joining North Davies is the opportunity to work alongside and receive mentorship from a board-certified veterinary surgeon as we develop a dedicated surgical service within the hospital. Our goal is not simply to bring advanced procedures into the practice. We want to use thisresource to develop our entire medical team. Depending on experience and professional interests, opportunities may include: Direct surgical mentorship and skill development Exposure to advanced surgical procedures Collaborative case planning and case discussions Advanced diagnostics and surgical decision-making Development of anesthesia and perioperative skills Management of more complex medical and surgical cases Urgent and same-day case exposure Opportunities to expand individual clinical interests We want our veterinarians to have access to experienced mentorship while also becoming mentors themselves. As doctors develop new knowledge and skills, we expect that learning to extend throughout the team—helping technicians, assistants, and fellow doctors become stronger clinicians. Our goal is to create a culture where mentorship is not a program; it is simply how we practice medicine. A Different Kind of General Practice North Davies is building a hybrid model of general practice, advanced surgery, and urgent care medicine. We want to preserve what is best about general practice—the relationships, continuity of care, and connection with clients—while developing the clinical capabilities, efficiency, and medical standards more commonly associated with advanced-care hospitals. Our doctors may see routine wellness appointments alongside same-day illness, urgentpresentations, diagnostics, procedures, surgical cases, and hospitalized patients. For veterinarians who enjoy variety, problem-solving, and a productive clinical pace , this creates an opportunity to practice across a broader spectrum of medicine without losing the relationships that make general practice rewarding. Urgent & Same-Day Medicine As the hospital grows, we are expanding our ability to evaluate, stabilize, treat, andappropriately refer urgent patients. Depending on experience and interest, cases may include: Respiratory emergencies Urinary obstruction Seizures Trauma and wounds Acute gastrointestinal disease Toxicities Lacerations and bleeding Pain management Hospitalized patients Same-day diagnostics and stabilization Surgical and procedural cases Doctors interested in urgent care will have opportunities to help shape protocols, workflows, equipment, training, and standards as these capabilities continue to develop. Help Build the Hospital Around You Joining North Davies during this stage of growth means having the opportunity to contribute rather than simply stepping into an established system. Our veterinarians have a voice in: Medical protocols and standards of care Equipment and technology investments Clinical workflow Urgent care development Surgical service development Technician utilization and training Team education and mentorship New service opportunities Hospital culture and long-term growth We are looking for veterinarians who enjoy being part of a team and recognize that strong doctors influence much more than the cases they personally manage. Team Building & Mentorship Strong veterinary hospitals are built by strong medical teams. Our veterinarians are encouraged to share knowledge, explain the reasoning behind medical decisions, utilize technicians to their full capabilities, and create opportunities for the people around them to grow. You do not need a management title to be a leader. We value doctors who are willing to: Share clinical knowledge Mentor technicians, assistants, and fellow doctors Teach the reasoning behind medical decisions Encourage curiosity and continued learning Participate in collaborative case discussions Support strong technician utilization Help establish consistent standards of patient care Receive feedback and mentorship themselves Contribute positively to hospital culture We want to cultivate veterinarians who continue learning and intentionally pass that knowledge forward. The Veterinarian Who Will Thrive Here This may be an excellent fit if you: Enjoy a diverse and engaging caseload Thrive in an active, collaborative clinical environment Like the variety of urgent and same-day medicine Want continued surgical and advanced medical exposure Enjoy solving challenging cases Value strong technician utilization Enjoy teaching and mentoring others Want your ideas to influence how a hospital develops Are curious, coachable, and committed to continued growth Want opportunities to develop leadership skills over time Whether you are an experienced veterinarian looking for greater clinical variety or a motivated doctor looking for mentorship and a place to build stronger surgical and urgent care capabilities, we want to provide room for your career to evolve. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Base Salary Starting at $130,000+ 20% Production Compensation Full-Time Four-Day Work Week Competitive compensation based on experience, capabilities, and schedule Benefits Medical Insurance Continuing Education Allowance State Licensing Fees Covered Professional Liability Coverage Professional Membership Support Paid Time Off Clinical Mentorship Surgical Mentorship Leadership Development Opportunities Opportunities to participate in future service development Our Vision North Davies Veterinary Hospital is intentionally evolving beyond a traditional general practice.
Our long-term vision includes:
Expanding high-quality general practice medicine Growing same-day and urgent care availability Building a dedicated advanced surgical service Strengthening hospitalization and patient monitoring capabilities Developing highly skilled veterinary technicians and assistants Creating meaningful mentorship pathways Expanding leadership opportunities for veterinarians Building a collaborative medical culture centered on continual improvement We want North Davies to become a hospital where clients can access a broader spectrum of veterinary care and where veterinary professionals can continue developing throughout their careers.
