Complete Hearing & Balance is a patient-first, clinician-led audiology practice dedicated to helping people hear better, move better, and live better. As the South Sound's only full-scope audiology clinic, we provide comprehensive hearing and balance care using evidence-based practices and advanced technology. Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and patient-centered Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) to join our clinical team. This role focuses on the evaluation, selection, fitting, and ongoing support of hearing aids, along with counseling patients through their hearing journey. The ideal candidate enjoys building long-term patient relationships, educating patients on hearing technology, and achieving results through consultative, needs-based sales rather than transactional selling. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct hearing aid evaluations and needs assessments
  • Recommend appropriate hearing technology based on patient lifestyle, hearing loss, and goals
  • Perform hearing aid fittings, programming, verification, and follow-up care
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and family members
  • Manage hearing aid repairs, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance
  • Build trust-based relationships that support patient satisfaction and long-term success
  • Meet individual and clinic performance goals while maintaining ethical standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
  • Collaborate closely with audiologists, PCCs, and support staff Qualifications
  • Active Hearing Instrument Specialist license in Washington State (or license-eligible)
  • Experience fitting and selling hearing aids preferred (newly licensed candidates encouraged to apply)
  • Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfort with consultative sales and goal-based performance expectations
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and patient-focused
