Heartland Live Substitute Teacher
- Prior Heartland Employee Preferred, Must Live in Serving County at Heartland Charter School Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 5/4/2026 Contact Megan Workman Number of Openings 3 Salary Single Rate $35 Per Hour Length of Work Year As needed Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, the Substitute Teacher will provide an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth.
Comments and Other Information General:
- At least one year of non-classroom based teaching experience required within last 5 years
- Must hold a valid California teaching credential
- Serve and support students in grades TK-12
- Help build school culture to create a community within the team and between families
- Keep all families informed as needed and appropriate
- Work collaboratively with local staff and school-wide departments in all school-related matters
- Follow school procedures to support student learning
- Maintain a valid teaching credential and work toward professional growth
- Attend events and meetings as directed (may be in-person or virtual)
- Be an Advocate for Accuracy in all things
- Demonstrate the ideals of an Ideal Team Player (Humble
- Able to take and reflect upon feedback; Hungry
- Strong work ethic; Smart
- Strong and responsive people skills)
- Return/respond to all calls and emails in a timely manner (typically within 24-48 work hours)
- Collaborate with Assistant Superintendents, Regional Principals, HSTs, and Case Managers as needed to identify, problem-solve, and prevent/address issues that may arise
- Provide office hours as outlined
- Utilize student data to guide instructional decisions
- Differentiate for students as needed
- Follow guidance outlined in 504s and or SPED processes and supports as needed
Attendance & Compliance:
- Ensure students are engaged in appropriate educational activities through the regular review of the student's body of work
- Report information in a timely manner regarding student's attendance and learning, which includes submission of documentation or action items needed for compliance, SST, 504, or SPED Please see detailed job description attached.
