Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician

Position Summary:

Repair/Service and perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems and appliances.

Position responsibilities:

Follow a scheduled maintenance program for multiply home heating and cooling systems. Correctly use HVAC related test equipment including refrigerant collection and reclamation systems. Comply with all federal and state regulations governing the use, storage and disposal of all refrigerants Repair and service community owned appliances. Become knowledgeable of all the HVAC apparatus and maintenance manuals for each type of unit. Utilize the work order system of all maintenance actions. Be available for emergency recall of emergency HVAC system failures. Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor

Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner at all times Resolves conflicts respectfully and in a timely manner, asks for assistance as needed. Participates actively in department team and all staff meetings. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Qualifications/Job Functions:

Minimum of five years' experience in repair and maintenance of heating and air conditioning equipment. Also maintain a current EPA certificate for ordering and using refrigerants. Aptitude for troubleshooting heat and air systems, water heaters, stoves, etc. Able to work independently and set priorities as indicated. Be sensitive to the resident's comfort and health concerns. Must be able to distinguish between color in regard to wiring and other equipment, able to stand for long periods of time, walk without assistance, kneel, bend and able to lift up to 100 lbs. Attendance at work and punctuality is an essential function of this position. Basic math skills; ability to work without direct supervision; ability to communicate effectively with others; must have a valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record.
