Heavy Diesel Mechanic Milwaukee, WI 53212 From $30 an hour - Full-time From $30 an hour - Full-time Job Summary Pay based upon experience. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles, including trucks, excavators, cranes, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of equipment used across various industrial and construction settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy equipment operation and automotive diagnostics to make a significant impact through their technical skills and dedication. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency. Fabricate and modify components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair or customization needs. Repair and service heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately; repair wiring harnesses, sensors, switches, and control modules as needed. Assist with assembly, disassembly, and overhaul of complex equipment components while adhering to safety protocols. Support heavy lifting operations by safely handling large parts or machinery during repair or installation processes. Qualifications Must have 5+ years of verifiable experience Proven experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic in a dealership or industrial environment with strong mechanical knowledge. Hands-on experience with fabricating metal parts using welding, cutting, soldering, and power tools. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently. Knowledge of automotive repair including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement, transmission servicing, tire service, and HVAC systems. Strong understanding of diesel engine repair techniques along with general automotive diagnostics skills. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in demanding environments; willingness to work in various weather conditions.
