Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and energetic Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this vital role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and routine service on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Repair or replace components such as shocks & struts, HVAC systems, wheel alignments, and tires using hand tools and power tools. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed for specialized repairs or customizations. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repairs or testing. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Experience Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks or industrial equipment in a dealership or similar setting. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical repairs. Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and using various hand tools and power tools. Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex systems such as transmissions, HVAC units, suspension components, and air brake systems. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery including excavators and forklifts. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.
