Job Description
Diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and transportation vehicles including light, medium and heavy duty trucks; and earthmoving equipment. This is a non-exempt hourly position.
Duties Include:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and rebuild failures on mobile or stationary equipment and vehicles Safely operate equipment and transportation vehicles for diagnosing and testing purposes. Document in a timely manner all repair work completed Proactively communicate with company personnel concerning equipment and job-related projects Safely use welding and flame-cutting equipment to perform welding duties Wear personal protective equipment at all times Maintain safe and organized work area Properly care for and maintain company equipment Working more than 40 hours per week as needed Working nights and weekends as needed Perform manual labor as needed Out of town travel may be required Perform additional assignments per supervisor's directionKnowledge of:
Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in repairing and maintaining vehicles and equipment Heavy Trucks Earthmoving Equipment Basic operation of heavy equipment Basic computer skills Ability to: Follow company policies and procedures Safely operate tools and equipment used to repair equipment Properly and neatly complete required paperwork Take and follow instructions Work under direct and indirect supervision Work with fuel and other petroleum products Lift and carry up to 50 pounds Push a force of 80 pounds Pull a force of 150 pounds Climb on and off equipment safely Walk and work on uneven terrain Shovel and use other hand tools Work in a shop or field environment and tolerate exposure to dust, welding fumes, exhaust fumes, hot/cold temperatures, extreme/inclement weather, vibrations, noise and compact spaces Bend, kneel, or squat to reach repair areasQualifications:
Must have a valid drivers license for the state in which you reside Class A or B CDL a plus Must own tools required to complete mechanic projects, or be willing to obtain tools Must be competent in or working to become proficient in each of the following: Troubleshooting techniques Hydraulic principles and systems Power and drive train principles Cutting and welding processes Fuel systemsEducation:
High school graduate preferred Prefer completion of heavy equipment and/or diesel technology programExperience:
Prefer three years of experience as a heavy equipment or truck technician.Job Type:
