Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic assists with preventative maintenance and repairs of heavy earth moving equipment and over-the-road trucks in the field and at Condie Construction's in-house shop. The Mechanic conducts machine set-up, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance service under the direction of the Equipment Manager. The Mechanic is responsible for hand tools and small equipment. Prefer candidates with experience repairing and maintaining the following: excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers, water trucks, dump trucks, semi-trucks and trailers, and support equipment and attachments. This is a full-time position; day shift with overtime as needed. Some after-hours field service may be required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, trailers, and semi-trucks Perform preventative maintenance and inspections Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, air, and engine systems Complete field service calls and emergency breakdown repairs Perform engine, drivetrain, suspension, brake, and undercarriage repairs Use diagnostic software and scan tools when needed Complete work orders and document repairs accurately Maintain clean work areas and service trucks Follow all safety procedures and company standards Work with shop leadership to prioritize repairs and minimize downtimeMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have valid state driver's license Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. with appropriate documentation (E-Verify) Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work (minimum 2 years preferred) Experience servicing heavy earth-moving equipment (CAT, Komatsu, haul trucks, excavators, loaders, semi-trucks, and small equipment) Possession of own tools is preferred Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems Welding and fabrication experience is a plus CDL is preferred, but not required Ability to life heavy components and work in outdoor conditions Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency Self-motived, reliable, professional attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Team oriented with good communication skillsPay:
