Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Diesel Technician) Full-Time up to $40 per hour Position Summary The heavy equipment technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment. This role emphasizes proactive maintenance practices, equipment reliability, and strict adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in preventing breakdowns, maintaining detailed service records, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance services on heavy equipment including inspections, lubrication, filter changes, and system testing. Conduct thorough equipment inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures before breakdowns occur. Follow maintenance schedules based on manufacture recommendations and operational demands. Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed. Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures to increase equipment uptime and reliability. Skills Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and technical manuals. Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and shop environments. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods.
