Heavy Equipment Operator - Commercial Refuse

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will operate and maintain assigned equipment, inspect equipment before use, ensure equipment repair is made and clean the beautiful streets of Savannah. We offer great pay, excellent benefits and career progression! We look forward to having you onboard! Operates and maintains heavy motorized equipment. Operates boom truck to pick up bulk items. Operates automated refuse truck in assigned areas. Completes work orders; maintains required paperwork. Inspects equipment before use to ensure necessary repairs are made. Inspects job sites for possible hazards. Responds to customer inquiries and refers customer complaints to supervisor. Ensures proper equipment maintenance; performs minor repairs as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. Two (2) years of heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid state Class B Commercial driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Work Hours:

Mon - Fri 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This is a critical workforce and safety sensitive position. Additional Requirements Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment. Knowledge of centrifuge system operation. Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment. Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work. Skill in the operation of maintenance tools and equipment. Skill in oral and written communication.
