Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman

Thom Summers & Sons Excavating LLC is located in Eden in the Ogden Valley. We are looking for a talented, hard working individual to join our team; someone with strong leadership abilities and who has a desire to not only have a job but to grow with our company. This person needs to have strong management skills, a widespread understanding of construction, good people and communication skills and is teachable. Pay is $24 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience. Must be able to meet/pass drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Experience Required:

Three years experience running utility/earthwork crew while running heavy equipment Minimum of 5 years running various pieces of heavy machinery Class A CDL but not required Valid Drivers License Must be able to read and understand blue prints

Job Responsibilities:

This position is expected to run a crew while operating equipment Must be able to maintain a structured construction schedule Train and direct adn work alongside subordinates in the operations of the job Must be able to read civil plans, sketches and blue prints to accomplish assigned work to specifications Service and maintain equipment on project site Attend weekly safety meetings Fill out daily job worksheets Communicate with team members, general contractors and management Clear understanding of utility locates and stakes Needs physical strength and endurance Position can be physically demanding, good coordination is a plus English and Spanish (Preferred but not a must)
