Heavy Haul Truck Driver

A. Scott Jackson Trucking Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Driver to support our operations. This role involves transporting a variety of heavy equipment, including moving our own equipment between job sites as well as hauling equipment for outside customers. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and experienced in handling oversized and overweight loads. This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in their equipment, understands the importance of securement and compliance, and can operate independently while representing the company professionally. Key Responsibilities Safely transport heavy and oversized equipment, including both company-owned and customer equipment Follow all instructions for pickup, transport, and delivery of equipment and supplies Load, secure, and unload equipment in accordance with DOT regulations and company standards Plan routes and obtain all necessary permits for oversized/overweight loads Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding load status and scheduling Keep accurate records of pickups, deliveries, mileage, and obtain required signatures and receipts Account for all distance traveled in performing assigned duties Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain equipment in safe operating condition Report maintenance or repair needs to management Prepare and complete all required reports, logs, and documentation Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and the public Perform all other duties as assigned by management Qualifications Valid CDL (Class A) required 3+ years of heavy haul or equipment hauling experience preferred Strong knowledge of load securement and oversized/overweight hauling requirements Experience with various types of trailers (RGN, lowboy, step deck, etc.) Clean driving record Ability to operate or assist with loading heavy equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Preferred Qualifications Experience hauling construction, agricultural, or specialized equipment Familiarity with permits and route planning for oversized loads Mechanical knowledge or experience operating equipment a plus
