Help Desk Technician Req #8013 Joint Base Myers Henderson Hall, 1555 Southgate Rd, Arlington, Virginia, United States of America Apply Share Job Description Posted Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:00 AM | Expires Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 12:59 AM GC&E Federal seeks a Helpdesk Technician with experience in local and remote desktop services to assist the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall area of responsibility which includes Fort Myer and Fort McNair to operate and maintain the Information and Infrastructure systems.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- provide user support and workstation management as described in the following subsections.
- Provide user support to include, but not limited to, help by telephone, remote control, and support at the desktop/problem area.
- Perform new user set-ups, account termination, the establishment of e-mail and messaging accounts as well as telecommunication services, set-up of peripheral/portable devices.
- Perform problem resolution, manage desktop hardware and software assignments, basic network troubleshooting and address warranty problems.
- Provide touch labor services to both unclassified and classified networks.
- Record, analyze, maintain, prepare and submit required information into ticketing system as well as reports regarding problem resolution occurrences and trends.
- Develop self-help training aids (e.g., tips & tricks, FAQ's) for recurring problems as needed or required.
- Perform workstation management to include, but not limited to, planning, design, testing, implementation, deployment, administration, maintenance, repair, modification, final disposition, day to day operation, and upgrade to operating systems, software applications, and hardware utilized on user workstations.
- Perform PC adds, moves, and changes; Army Gold Master imaging; provide central management and remote management of desktops.
- Configure printers and multifunction devices as well as initiate warranty support for customer organization.
- Research, apply, distribute, and document desktop patches.
Experience with the following:
- MS Operating System
- Microsoft 365 and associated applications
- Creating, testing and deploying system images
- Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM)
- Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Preferred Certifications/Requirements:
- CompTIA Security + and A+
