Locums About the Facility This academic hospital-based cancer center provides specialized hematology and oncology services with comprehensive treatment capabilities. The facility maintains established protocols for quality patient care delivery with coordinated care between inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings. Hospital privileges are required with approximately 90 days credentialing timeframe for this position. About the Facility Location Lexington offers visitors access to renowned equestrian attractions including Keeneland racing course and the Kentucky Horse Park, where guests can experience thoroughbred culture through guided farm tours and racing events. The area features distilleries such as Buffalo Trace, providing opportunities to explore local bourbon production. Additional activities include specialty museums, recreational venues like SUP Kentucky and McConnell Springs, and entertainment options at locations such as The Burl Arcade. About the Clinician's Workday The hematologist/oncologist will provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM managing up to 16 patients per day in mixed inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings. Clinical responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating care for hematologic and oncologic conditions including GI, GU, breast, and lung cancers with 0-2 new consults daily. The clinician must maintain documentation through Epic EMR system for all patient encounters and treatment planning activities. Call coverage is required during any inpatient coverage days with weekend and night call handled by fellows.
