Role Overview :
The physician will provide hematology/oncology services for Alameda Health System. Services will be on-site at Highland Hospital, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
:
NOTE:
Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. Diagnose and treat patients with malignancies/cancers, including all solid tumors and hematologic malignancies such as leukemias, lymphomas and multiple myeloma. Diagnose and treat patients with benign hematologic conditions including and but limiting to neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, thrombotic conditions, bleeding disorders. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, targeted therapies and immunotherapies. Conduct and interpreter diagnostic tests, including bone marrow biopsies and genomic testing. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, social workers, navigators and nurses. Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, potential side effects, and long-term management. Offer support and guidance throughout the treatment process. Manage follow-up care for patients, including monitoring for recurrence of disease and managing long-term effects of treatment. Develop long-term care plans and provide support for survivorship. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes. Ensure compliance with medical standards and regulations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required.
Required:
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California. Valid DEA license.
Pay Range:
$218.70 - $229.21/ Hour The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
