Building Principal /District Business Office Job Summary:
The High School Business Manager is responsible for managing the school's daily financial operations, with a primary focus on student activity accounts, transactions, and account balances. This position ensures accurate record-keeping, timely processing of funds, and compliance with district policies. The Business Manager works closely with students, staff, advisors, and administration to support financial activities in a professional, organized, and service-oriented manner.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain all student activity accounts, ensuring accurate balances and proper documentation Process daily financial transactions including deposits, receipts, and disbursements Reconcile accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Monitor account activity to ensure compliance with district policies and procedures Assist student groups, advisors, and staff with account use, purchasing, and financial processes Prepare financial reports and account summaries for administration and advisors Maintain organized and accurate financial records for auditing purposes Coordinate and track fundraising activities and associated funds Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times Communicate clearly with students, staff, and families regarding account balances and transactions Collaborate with the district business office on financial processes and reporting requirements Support year-end closeout procedures and audits Maintain confidentiality of financial and student informationQualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management required Experience working in a school setting or with student activity funds preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentWorking Conditions:
Primarily office-based within a high school setting Frequent interaction with students, staff, and the public May involve periods of high volume and tight deadlines (e.g., fundraisers, end-of-year reporting)Similar remote jobs
